IACI Multi-Cultural Young People's Awards
IACI Multicultural Young People Awards (MYPA)
The aim of these annual awards is to recognise the dedication of young people in making strides towards positively promoting integration and cultural awareness amongst both newer and more established communities in Irish society.
The target group who can be nominated for these awards are secondary pupils (from 3rd to 5th year), young people involved in youth clubs and direct provision. Work from Sept 09/June ’10 will be accepted. Nominations may be submitted by teachers, An Garda Siochana, youth workers, health service executives, community workers, the Department of Education, and individuals who knows a young person making a positive impact.

* Science
* Health Awareness & the Environment
* Music / Social Studies
* Community & Volunteerism
* Special Judge's Award (Group & Individual)

The Awards ceremony was hosted by Chartered Accountants House (Pearse Street) and awards were presented by Minister for Children Frances Fitzgerald, T.D., and Lord Mayor of Dublin, Andrew Montague.

On 19 November, IACI hosted it's second annual MYPA in Dublin. According to Yemisi Ojo, Multicultural Young People’s Awards (MYPA) recognises the hard work of young people (Irish & non-Irish) whose dedication and contribution is making strides in the integration and cultural awareness initiatives that benefits both newer and more established communities in Irish society. The special guest of honour President Mary McAleese presented all the awards of the evening to all the winners present. Peter Hurley of Catholic Youth Care launched a resource booklet for young people, written by Yemisi Ojo entitled “Me, Myself & I" and also helped to re-launch IACI-Integration Of All Children in Ireland, formally “Integration of African Children in Ireland". 
IACI aunched the Multicultural Young People’s Awards (MYPA). in 2010 The MYPA-Awards recognizes the unsung heroes whose dedication is making strides in integration and cultural awareness that benefits both newer and more established communities in Irish society. Integration of African Children in Ireland is a national non-profit organisation established in 2003. In addition to promoting equality, the IACI addresses issues that impact on the development, health, education and sense of well being and belonging as experienced by young African and migrant children.
