Setting our Sights on Rights 2008
The theme of this resource is Young People's Rights. The resource explores the concept of human rights and how rights relate specifically to the lives of young people both in Ireland and all over the world. It highlights the fact that there is a gap between the rights that children and young people have been promised and the reality faced every day by the world's children and young people.

The resource also hopes to highlight ideas of respect, fairness, justice and equality and help young people to learn about standing up for their own rights and about their responsibility to respect the rights of others.
This resource is divided into four sections. Section One, Understanding Rights, introduces the concept of rights and responsibilities, as well as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Section Two, Rights and Justice, explores justice issues related to rights, with a focus on the experience of not having your rights fulfilled. Section Three, Rights Issues, highlights specific rights issues relating to young people and the different experiences of young people all over the world. Finally, Section Four, Taking Action, encourages young people to take action for their rights and the rights of other young people across the world and includes a guide to taking action.
